After a short illness, Violet Mary (Nakfoor) Albertson began her walk with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. A lifelong Lansing-area resident, Mrs. Albertson was preceded in death by her husband Ken Albertson; parents Shames and Saleem Nakfoor; and siblings Sherry Nouhan, William Nakfoor, Eugene Nakfoor and Arthur Nakfoor. She is survived by her sister Evonne Alhaddad; son Mark (Jan) Joseph and daughter Gina Greenlee; five granddaughters and two great-grandchildren; and her best friend Lois McLeod.
Violet was a compassionate, loving woman who showed her love to many through her career as a Registered Nurse. Vi loved working in Adult Psychiatric unit at St. Lawrence Hospital because she could forego traditional scrubs in favor of the jewelry and fashions for which she is still remembered by many. Always the hostess, Violet also regularly showed her love through food. You never left her house without some kind of treat!!

Violet was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church for most of her life. She loved being with people and was involved in many groups, including the Catholic Women's Club, Red Hat Society, Town Hall and others. She loved to travel and had a strong appreciation for art and music.
A funeral mass will be held at noon, Tuesday, November 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing. Friends and family may gather at 11 am for visitation. There will be a private interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Violets family would like to thank all of the angels who cared for Violet at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan St. Lawrence Campus.
Those desiring to make donations in honor of Violet, please send them to Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 South Cochran, Charlotte, MI. 48813, or Mother Teresa House, PO Box 13004, Lansing MI. 48901.
