Jeanne Peters was born December 15, 1945 in Howell, Michigan to the late Franklin and Berniece (Griffin) Shaffer, and passed away August 1, 2017 in Haslett, Michigan at age 71. Jeanne dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and the center of her world, her late husband Alva. She was an amazing seamstress making all clothing, she knitted, crocheted, made crafts and even gardened growing all kinds of wonderful veggies and flowers.. Skills she passed along to her children. She loved baking Christmas cookies for the townspeople for the holidays, she...

Jeanne Peters was born December 15, 1945 in Howell, Michigan to the late Franklin and Berniece (Griffin) Shaffer, and passed away August 1, 2017 in Haslett, Michigan at age 71. Jeanne dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and the center of her world, her late husband Alva. She was an amazing seamstress making all clothing, she knitted, crocheted, made crafts and even gardened growing all kinds of wonderful veggies and flowers.. Skills she passed along to her children. She loved baking Christmas cookies for the townspeople for the holidays, she was a very giving and faith filled person. Jeanne's husband was a cancer survivor, and Jeanne herself was a two-time cancer survivor. She was very involved in Relay For Life. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Alva; and brothers, Jeff and Jack Shaffer. Left to cherish memories of Jeanne are her daughters, Stacy (Steve) Greborunis, Heather (Idar) Halvorsen; grandchildren, Nikolas, Violet and Ivy; brother, Joel (Melissa) Shaffer; sister, Judy (Robert) Beck; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass is Tuesday August 8, 2017 at 11am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 157 High St., Williamston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be held at a later time.
