David M. Kehres age 61 died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

David was born December 24, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Virgil and Joan (Merritt) Kehres. He was one of 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls. His dad Virgil Kehres Jr. preceded him in death.

David graduated with honors from the U.S Air Force School of Applied Aerospace Sciences, Electrical Power Production Specialist Course, which was conducted by the Air Training Command. Only 10 percent of the 30,000 students the Air Force graduated each year at the time...

David M. Kehres age 61 died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

David was born December 24, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Virgil and Joan (Merritt) Kehres. He was one of 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls. His dad Virgil Kehres Jr. preceded him in death.

David graduated with honors from the U.S Air Force School of Applied Aerospace Sciences, Electrical Power Production Specialist Course, which was conducted by the Air Training Command. Only 10 percent of the 30,000 students the Air Force graduated each year at the time were able to meet the strict academic and military standards required of the honor graduates. David was trained to operate and maintain electrical power generating equipment and was assigned to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. He was able to retire from the Air Force.

David was severely injured as a young man and endured many years of suffering. He is now at peace.

He is survived by his brother Steven (Lori) Kehres, sisters Cheryl (Matt) Kehres-Dietrich, Patricia Kehres, and Janice (Mark) Armstrong. Also left to cherish his memory are 7 nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at The Vantown Community Church, 3504 East Howell, Webberville, MI 48892. The time of the service is at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Turner presiding.

Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Dansville, Michigan following the service.
